Instrument Facilities & Resources
The department offers hands-on experience with an impressive array of intrumenatation usually found only at large research universities.
Mass Spectrometry
In addition to an array of gas chromatography mass spectrometers, our Mass Spectrometry Facility has an ultra-high resolution Orbitrap mass spectrometer, as well as an ultra-high sensitivity triple quadrupole mass spectrometer- which, when combined with liquid chromatrography, provides powerful structural elucidation for biological materials analysis.
NMR Facility
Our NMR facility has two Bruker 400 MHz superconducting NMR spectrometers (Avance and Avance III) with a capillary NMR flow probe and one Anasazi 90 MHz NMR spectrometer, all equipped with multinuclear and variable temperature capabilities.

West Center for Computational Chemistry and Drug Design (WC3D2)
Our computational facility includes high-performance computing clusters with more than 1,500 processors and InfiniBand interconnections, over 160 terabytes of disk spaces and cutting-edge NVIDIA Tesla "Fermi" graphics processing units (GPUs) in both cluster and workstation settings. More than 20 linux workstations come with quad processors and high-end graphic cards, while sophisticated software enables computer simulations and visualization of various chemical and biochemical processes and systems.
